Jiggery Juggery 

 

I want to drink you in

like the excitement

of an untethered jig

to the beat of a drum

fresh under the sun

 

We’ll call this dance

to chance unknown

because it is ours

and we will giggle

as they will wonder

 

For the drunkenness

of two hearts singing

is a voice too loud

for the ears of others 

who are not lovers

 

So we’ll toss the jug

like a hug undone

when I spin from within

and we will stumble

and time will tell

 

Because your soul

will spill asunder

and I’ll sew it together

and we’ll lace the strings

like we do beautiful things
